Last year I started a tradition of raising funds for The Trevor Project in lieu of accepting gifts for my birthday and the holidays. A lot of amazing friends helped make my donation dream come true, so I’m doing it again this year with a twist. I’ve gotten a lot of awesome new followers in the past year and since you don’t have the same impetus (read: tons of personal and annoying guilt from me) to help me raise funds, I decided to sweeten the pot for all of you.
I’m running a small raffle along with the donations so that you get a chance at prizes for your generosity - from a Skype session with Charlene Kaye to limited edition StarKid swag to one of those coveted TLOS totes. For every $5 you donate you get an entry for the raffle item of your choice. That said, I’ll happily accept any amount in donation, even if you only have a dollar. Hell, even if you only have a quarter! Works for me! And if you want to give big bucks, go for it! Every multiple of $5 is another entry.
At the end of collecting I’ll be making a large donation to The Trevor Project and be super thankful to all of you for helping make my birthday dreams come true.
The Process and The Raffle Items BELOW:
1. The easiest way to donate is to go through paypal as a gift to my email address to avoid fees. raevotta AT gmail DOT com. Follow the instructions in #3 for how to do the donation.
2. If you don’t feel comfortable with that, I have a donation button HERE, but do note that paypal will pull some fees out of that. I’ll accept your intent to donate $5 there despite fees. (Don’t be alarmed, that account uses an alternate email address!)
3. MAKE SURE YOU SET THE TRANSACTION TO PERSONAL AND GIFT. Or if it just asks who you are paying, say “friends and family” and set it to from bank account to avoid fees.” Examples below or all HERE:
3a. Then in the “Message” field on the second page, use the key words below associated with each item, and a number for the corresponding amount of entries you wish for each item. If you donate via button, just drop me an email or an ask with your entries.
