staceysthings asked: So how was your weekend? What did you think of the show tonight? I'm a bit sad I wasn't there but I know there will be another time.
My weekend was great and full of a lot of food and a lot of out-of-town friends who had all decided to come into town for closing weekend. It’s actually rare that most of them are ever in my city — usually I am the one who ends up visiting them on the west coast, so it felt nice to be on my home turf. We mostly spent all our time eating.
I don’t know if I am going to write up my thoughts on tonight’s show or the entire run somewhere more officially, but I will say I did enjoy tonight a lot. I sat in mezz because I’d already sat in orch and I wanted a different perspective, and I found the dancing more fun from that view. Chris Hanke is still my very favorite thing about the show and I adore that character to pieces, so it was great to see him close out his run as well as Darren. Darren was definitely more energetic, settled and on in the role than he was opening night, and the changes he’d made to the acting were interesting to say the least. I probably have more thoughts on it later when I have some free brainspace this week.
And I definitely don’t think we’ve seen the last of Darren Criss on Broadway so you’ll have many opportunities.
